Principal Attorney
Rhett Bartlett is the founder of Bartlett Law, a Houston firm devoted to criminal defense and personal injury. Mr. Bartlett is a trial lawyer, and he prepares every case to be tried. Before founding the firm, Mr. Bartlett served in the Office of the Texas Attorney General, where he handled criminal appeals on behalf of the State of Texas, and in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases. He then practiced civil litigation at Thompson Coe Cousins & Irons LLP, where he defended insurance companies and their policyholders in injury suits. That background — years spent on the government's side of criminal cases and the insurance company's side of injury cases — informs how he prepares a defense and how he values an injury claim: he knows how the other side builds its case, because he has been the other side. Mr. Bartlett earned his B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, and a Master of Public Health from Yale University. He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas. Bartlett Law maintains offices in Houston and Canadian, Texas, and represents clients across the state. Mr. Bartlett lives in Houston with his wife, a physician.
